Even now to take the focus off of me is like being set free from all bondage. I become so miserable when I’m focused on self. Self-centeredness is the root of all grief. I can see faith in this. It takes faith to believe that what I really want deep down inside is to know Jesus. Crazy but true.
“You shall know the truth and that truth will make you free.” — John 8:32.
“And this is eternal life, that they may know you, the only true God and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.” — John 17:3.
I believe this is what happened to the woman at the well. He revealed who He was to her, she got to know Him, and it was so satisfying and more. It changed her perspective. It changed her life.
Jesus answered and said to her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.” — John 4:10
