How Do You See Yourself?

I am all about power. Having the ability to grow and change my life in such a way that I can influence (love) everyone around me. As Henry David Thoreau says, “I know of no more encouraging fact than the unquestionable ability of man to elevate his life by conscious endeavor”.
So the question again is, how do you see yourself? Are you reactive? Does the weather change your mood? Do you enjoy everyday or just payday? Do you enjoy Monday as much as Saturday? Do you allow your feelings to dictate how you will treat others?
Our Father created us in His image and likeness and with that came an ability to choose. Our ability to choose how we will respond to day-to-day situations is our greatest freedom and power. It’s not what happens to us that makes us or breaks us but how we choose to feel about it.
Here are a few scriptures that remind me of some great choices that we can make:
This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live. Deuteronomy 30:19 NIV
And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your father served…..But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. Joshua 24:15 ESV
A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold. Proverbs 22:1
Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season. Hebrews 11:25
Choose my instruction instead of silver, knowledge rather than choice gold. Proverbs 8:10 NIV
God’s way is the best way!
